Thanks to a concerned and aware citizen, deputies were able to obtain an arrest warrant for an individual that abandoned a dog on a county road.
On October 9, 2022, deputies were informed of a man in a pickup truck that had left a dog near the intersection of CR E. 840 and CR N. 2560 west of Watonga. The citizen was able to provide a description of the vehicle and the license plate number.
Deputies were able to identify the owner of the vehicle. When questioned about the abandoned dog, the man admitted that he left the dog because he no longer wanted the dog at his residence.
Deputies presented the case to the Blaine County District Attorney's Office. An arrest warrant was issued for Abondonment of Domestic Animal on Road. Bond was set at $1,000.
