Learn More About The Cosmetology Program at NWTC and Meet Our Instructors!

This past August, Northwest Technology Center opened a Cosmetology program on the Fairview Campus in a newly remodeled classroom.  The program is approved by the Oklahoma Board of Cosmetology and currently has 34 students enrolled.   The program length for adult students is 1500 clock hours and for high school students is 1000 clock hours.   Students interested in enrolling for the 23-24 school year should contact Jennifer Shaw, Guidance Counselor on the Fairview Campus at jshaw@nwtech.edu.

Hillary Cinnamon is the Instructor for the Cosmetology Program.  Prior to joining the staff at NWTC in July of 2022, she worked in the Cosmetology industry for seventeen years performing roles in clerical work, scheduling, cleaning, laundry, stylist assistant and many spa services.

As a person and a professional she describes herself as creative, a morale booster, positive, ethical, reliable, and supportive. She enjoys furthering her education every year with multiple continuing education courses with well-known companies in the industry and is always expanding her skill set to master current trends. She is certified as a Master Cosmetology Instructor and is a graduate of NWOSU.

Cinnamon has several certifications from well-known Cosmetology companies including Redken, Chi, Rusk, EZ Flow, GiGi, Ardell, Jessica Simpson, IBD, Big Sexy, Backscratchers Acrylic Nail Application, JC Penney Salons, Balayage, Hot Heads Hand-Tied Extension, Halo, Barbicide and Spa Girl.

According to Cinnamon, “I want to help future Cosmetologists learn, grow and to chase their dreams, just like I did.  I am so incredibly grateful for this amazing opportunity to start this new program. The staff has been very patient, supportive and helpful. Northwest Technology Center is a wonderful place to work and I am glad to be part of their team!”

Cinnamon is the daughter of Rob and Patricia Nida of Alva. She lives in Fairview with her daughter, Bella. Cinnamon says that the town of Fairview has been very welcoming to her family and has proved to be a very supportive community in a short amount of time.

Audrey Jennings is the Assistant Cosmetology Instructor for the program on the Fairview Campus beginning on October 1. Jennings says, “I have worked behind the chair and as a salon manager before obtaining my Master Instructor license. Before joining the NWTC staff, I was briefly employed by Formations Institute after they purchased Enid Beauty College. I was a Master Instructor at Enid Beauty College for over 10 years. “

Jennings says that she really enjoys teaching cosmetology theory, as well as taking a new student and growing them in their practical skills and giving them the basics that will help them grow as a professional. She is excited to be a part of the new cosmetology program at NWTC and developing it.  “I am really enjoying being a part of the NWTC team! I am so happy to work here!”

Jennings has Cosmetology and Master Instructors Licenses.  She has two children and two grandchildren. She lives in Enid. Her daughter, Lexi, is married to Casey Oakley. They have Chloee and Ace. Her son, Max is a junior in high school this year.
