The Aggies men's basketball team headed to Siloam Springs, AR, to face John Brown University Thursday evening.
Before tip-off last time these two teams played each other was on January 7th in Goodwell, OK, where both teams would need extra time to complete the game. The Aggies would lose in overtime 73-78.
Junior Justin Pile got the first Aggies bucket for the Aggies at the 16:38 mark. The Aggies and the Golden Eagles would maintain the contest close. The Aggies would go up by five at the 13:17 mark from a fine basket from Junior Joe Greaves. The Aggies would see the lead shrink, and the Golden Eagles would tie the game 15-15 at the 9:53 mark. Aggies would go on a 9-2 run, slashing a 24-17 lead, and the Aggies would go into the half up 39-35.
Coming out of halftime, the Aggies would get up to an 11-point lead from a layup from Sophomore Kaleb Stephens at the 15:45 mark. The Aggies would see the Golden Eagles tie the game at 46-46 with 13:00 minutes left. With 2:53 left in the game, Senior Rayquan Elliott would make an excellent layup to give the Aggies a 6-point lead; again, the Golden Eagles would take the lead 64-63 with 1:58 left. The Golden Eagles would hit the game-winning three-point shot with 19 seconds left to give them the lead and the win making the final score 67-70.
The Aggies scored 27 points off of turnovers as a team, and the Aggies would finish with 13 steals.
