Aggie softball Junior Bryerly Avina(Salt Lake City, UT ) and Aggie Junior Sam Bond (Georgetown, TX) have been named the Oklahoma Panhandle State University "Aggies of the Week."
Both teams competed last week in conference play. The baseball team journeyed to Bethany, OK, as they faced Southwestern Christian University. Softball competed at home as they opened their conference opener against Langston University, sweeping the Lions in four games.
Bryerly Avina went 5 for 11, hitting a double, triple, and two home runs and recording seven runs batted in. Avina batted a .445 and slugged a 1.273% in the series against the Lions.
Sam Bond went 2-8 against the Eagles, scoring two runs batted in and walked once in the series.
