Northwestern Oklahoma State extended their three game win streak Tuesday afternoon following a 15-9 win. The Rangers used an eight run seventh inning with three home runs and a triple in the inning to take control of the win.

The Rangers moved to 13-11 on the season with a 6-6 conference record. The Aggies drop to 7-15-1 on the season.

Shaughn Kelly and Jon Shaffer each led the Rangers with three hits in the afternoon. Gavin Mendoza led the team with three RBIs going 2-4 on the day. Rangers hit three home runs in the seventh inning from Colby Jarnigan, Kelly, and Hagen Barcello.

Garrett DeHaas started the game for the Rangers, throwing five innings striking out three allowing two runs. Connor Gibson picks up his first win of the season. Matthew Potts, Zac McEachern, Kyle Gscheidle,and Jacob Shaw all threw in relief. Shaw striking out all five batters he faced.

In the first inning both teams traded runs scoring two each for a tie game through the first inning. The Aggies led the game off with a double followed by a single setting up first and third nobody out. A groundout scored the first run of the game before an RBI double quickly put the Aggies in front 2-0. 

Shaughn Kelly led the inning off with a double for Northwestern before a walk had the Rangers first two hitters on. Brandon Holdren hit an RBI single putting the Rangers on the board and cutting the deficit to 2-1. Gavin Mendoza tied the game with an RBI single scoring Barcello. 

Garrett DeHaas held the Aggies scoreless in the second inning before the Rangers added three more runs for the first lead of the game. The inning started with a double by Theron Perkins,second straight inning the Rangers had a leadoff double. Trevor Stiles then singled in Perkins for an RBI and a 3-2 lead for the home team. Kelly followed with an RBI single, his second hit of the game. Stiles later scored on a wild pitch for a 5-2 Ranger lead. 

Northwestern's defense continued to field well after throwing out a runner out at the plate in the first inning to end the inning the Rangers used a double play for the second straight inning to help retire the side. 

In the fourth inning the Rangers had their third straight inning with a double play for the first two outs before DeHaas then worked around a 2-out single and double to hold the game at 5-2 in favor of the Rangers through four innings of work.

The fifth inning the Rangers tacked on one more run after a Koenig triple with one out, Perkins was able to hit him in with an RBI sacrifice fly for a 6-2 Ranger lead. Rangers showed more defense in the sixth inning with two outs with runners at first and second Brown doubled to left center scoring one run before the Rangers threw out their second runner at the plate as Shaffer hit Kelly with the throw before Kelly got it to Trevor Stiles in time. 

The Aggies however came back to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning with three runs on two hits in the seventh. Dibartolo hit an RBI single before a bases-loaded walk and a wild pitch had the game tied at 6-6. 

Northwestern took control once more in the seventh scoring eight runs in the 7th answering back on the Aggies. All runs came with two outs in the inning. Brady Bejarano with two outs and runners on first and second hit a 2-RBI triple to right center to regain the lead for the Rangers at 8-6. The inning did not stop there as Colby Jarnagin had his first plate appearance with a 2-run pinch hit home run. This was the start of a home run parade as the Rangers went back-to-back-to-back as Shaughn Kelly and Hagen Barcello hit solo home runs. After a Brandon Holdren single and a Jon Shaffer double, Gavin Mendoza hit an RBI single scoring two more runs for a 14-6 Ranger lead.

The visitors tried to get back in the game, scoring three runs in the eighth inning off a solo home run, an RBI single, and an RBI walk to cut their deficit to five runs at 14-9. Back to back strikeouts for Jacob Shaw coming in relief escaped further damage. Bejarano helped create a run in the 8th inning after drawing a walk he stole second before advancing to third and scoring on a ground out for a 15-9 Ranger lead. Shaw closed out the game with three straight strikeouts as he struck out all five batters he faced. 

The win is the Rangers fourth straight after sweeping Southern Nazarene over the weekend and closing the mid-week non conference game out with the victory.
